Srinagar, Feb 7 (KNO) : Vice Chancellor of University of Kashmir Prof Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi on Wednesday flagged off delegations of students to various universities and historical places in North India.
A delegation, comprising 25 students and led by KU’s cultural officer Shahid Ali Khan, will participate in the sixth national Chandigarh cultural festival being hosted by the Chandigarh University, Mohali, from 9th to 10th February. The students will also participate in competitive events in art, music, theatre and culture categories.
Another group of 40 students led of Dr Shazia, assistant professor at Women’s Studies Centre, will visit universities in Delhi, Punjab and UP and other historical places in these states.
Yet another group of students comprising nine members, led by Shahid Ali Khan, will represent North India in the debate and mimicry events at the all-India level national youth festival organised by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, at the Ranchi University from 16 to 20th February.
During his interaction with the student delegations, Prof Andrabi advised them to get enlightened through their interactions with their counterparts.
“Such interactions are very important for the overall development of students. They also give the students an opportunity to learn from their own experiences and from the experiences of others in the team,” he said.
KU Registrar Prof Khurshid A Butt also spoke on the occasion while Dean of Students Welfare Prof GN Khaki acknowledged the support of the Vice Chancellor and Registrar towards the welfare of students.(KNO)
